Hot air vulcanization
WebIn its simplest form, vulcanization is brought about by heating rubber with sulfur. The process was discovered in 1839 by the U.S. inventor Charles Goodyear, who also noted the important function of certain additional substances in the process. WebThe economically most important method (vulcanization of tires) uses high pressure and temperature after the curative has been added to the rubber. A typical vulcanization temperature for a passenger tire is 10 minutes at 170 °C.

WebThis new patented vulcanization system simultaneously exploits the process qualities of molten salt and high-speed hot air. This system eliminates the use of rollers and / or conveyor belts to keep the profile immersed under the surface of the molten salt. The profile floats on the molten salt and during vulcanization the profile is hit by a ... WebThe first process, called Pressure Vulcanization involves heating the rubber with sulfur under pressure, with a temperature of 150C. The second process, called Free Vulcanization, simply involves passing very hot steam or air through the rubber.
