Webb15 mars 2013 · If the engine does not quickly return to idle after a good rev, it's too lean and needs a bigger pilot jet. If there's bogging when taking off or reving from idle, it's too rich. These problems can often be tuned out with the air screw. There's a couple techniques for the pilot/air screw. This is why setting the values to zero or positive in this region takes care of off idle bog on throttle application.

If you get a bog on acceleration, the idle circuit probably isn't supplying enough fuel. As Critter suggested, try opening up the pilot a few more turns and see if it makes a difference. Idle rpms should go up and down with the twist.

At idle look down the carburetor and see if gas is dribbling out of the venturi. If so, then you have a main discharge problem. The 2100 used a check ball and check weight in the discharge. Be sure they are there.

You're right about bypassing the idle circuit at fast idle, but the car will bog down from slow idle too if you wait just long enough for the fast idle cam to disengage. On the butterfly and the choke spring, I think they're not far off as "index" seems about the right tension to me.
Webb13 nov. 2024 · Long story short. I can't for the life of me get rid of my off idle bog. If I mash the throttle it goes silent and dies, but if I work into the throttle slowly it's fine. I want to say it's a carb problem but am not sure anymore.
